BNY Mellon Named Tri-Party Agent of Year
OREANDA-NEWS. Celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, Global Investor/ISF magazine's awards to asset managers, securities servicers and specialists, and pension schemes are among the most prestigious in the investments industry. BNY Mellon scored a major success in this year's competition, with the company's collateral management and segregation business named Tri-Party Agent of the Year.
As noted in coverage of this year's awards in the magazine's June/July issue, BNY Mellon received Tri-Party Agent of the Year honors in recognition of its global collateral management innovations and global strategies to reduce intraday credit and systemic risk and optimize the management of collateral.
"Clients in the global securities and derivatives markets need more sophisticated support now that key developments like the imposition of margining and clearing requirements for OTC derivatives are being implemented in the new regulatory environment," said Jim Malgieri, executive vice president and head of collateral management and segregation for BNY Mellon Markets.
"Our clients are facing considerable challenges. That's why we're so focused on developing innovative solutions. We're finding new and better ways to leverage BNY Mellon's securities finance, liquidity services and collateral segregation and management capabilities, and we're using our global reach to collaborate with clients on a local level around the world, helping them develop solutions that enable them to manage all of their collateral-related capital – cash and non-cash alike – more efficiently," Malgieri said.
Nominations for this year's awards were judged by a panel of leading industry figures assembled by Global Investor/ISF. Awards were presented at a recognition dinner in London on June 30.
BNY Mellon Markets is one of the company's fastest growing businesses that helps clients access capital, financing and liquidity with a comprehensive suite of innovative solutions and services covering foreign exchange, securities finance, collateral management and segregation, capital markets, liquidity and prime brokerage services.
