OREANDA-NEWS. The Bank of Russia has developed special requirements for the websites of insurers and the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RUMI) aimed at providing their continuous and uninterrupted operations when selling OSAGO electronic policies starting 1 January 2017.

Both insurers and RUMI will have to provide nonstop performance of technological and operational tools used to sign OSAGO contracts on a 7/24 basis, have corresponding redundant systems and also take measures to avoid conditions which might affect website nonstop operations.

According to the draft ordinance, the total website operational outage cannot be longer than 4 hours a month. When planned maintenance is scheduled and the website is unavailable, at least 24 hour-notification should be posted on the website main page with details of such maintenance (scheduled date and outage time).

The document also defines the disruption of website continuous operation including the critical one, i.e. when the service is unavailable for more than two hours.
