OREANDA-NEWS. National Australia Bank today announced 259 Queen Street in Brisbane’s Golden Triangle will be the new state-of-the-art office location for its Queensland headquarters.

NAB has signed a 10 year lease for 8,000m² of space at the A Grade complex, owned by the Investa Commercial Property Fund (ICPF), which will be redesigned for 650 NAB employees and is located in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

The building will be renamed NAB Place and will undergo a major $6 million refit to the lobby, café, new concierge and destination lifts to deliver improved employee, customer and community experiences.

Designed by Cox Architecture, the refurbishment will integrate the 16 level, 24,708m² building with the adjacent, heritage listed General Post Office via a glass canopy and a new foyer and mezzanine level.

NAB will occupy five floors of NAB Place, dramatically reducing its footprint from 11 smaller sized floors at its current 100 Creek Street location.

NAB Group Executive, Enterprise Services and Transformation, Renée Roberts said NAB is committed to creating workplaces that increase collaboration and innovative thinking, and help employees achieve stronger performance and wellbeing outcomes.

“This is about creating environments that help our people bring their best to work, so that we can best serve our customers,” Ms Roberts said.

“We’re investing in high standard facilities for our people and our customers, and ensuring we have the best solutions in place for our future workplace needs.”

NAB Place has been named as the evolution to NAB’s highly acclaimed workplace design and award-winning premises at 700 and 800 Bourke Street locations in Melbourne.

259 Queen St has a 4.5 star NABERS energy rating with spacious 1,500m2 – 1,600m2 floor plates.

Renovations will commence in the coming months and employees will move into NAB Place from mid-2017.
