OREANDA-NEWS. In the Tower of London, ABN AMRO was announced winner of four prestigious Euromoney Awards including ‘Global Award for Best Bank Transformation’. ABN AMRO also received the awards for ‘Best Bank in the Netherlands’ and ‘Best Investment Bank for the Netherlands’, as well as the ‘Best Bank Transformation award for Western Europe’.

'ABN AMRO's IPO in late 2015 was the culmination of a huge restructuring operation that has created one of the most profitable and best capitalised financial institutions in Europe,’ Euromoney said. ‘Under the leadership of chairman Gerrit Zalm, ABN AMRO has become, once again, a bank of which its employees and clients can be proud. Its success is due to a targeted business approach, focusing on the Netherlands, private banking and international commodities and transport’. 

At the ceremony, Hugo Peek (Head of Large Corporates) and Rutger Schellens (Head of Capital Market Solutions) were present to receive the awards on behalf of ABN AMRO. 

Rutger Schellens said: ‘Enormous efforts have gone into earning the trust and business of our clients in the past few years. It is rewarding to see that these efforts are also recognized by opinion leaders in the banking industry’. 

Hugo Peek added: ‘After being named best equity bank in the Benelux for the second consecutive year by investors in the Extel Survey in June this year, the Euromoney awards further underline our achievements to continuously improve our service to our clients’.
