ОРЕАНДА-НОВОСТИ. SOGAZ Insurance has insured all possible risks associated with the construction and assembling operations during the building of the Nizhniy Novgorod stadium, where the World Cup matches will be held in 2018. The total sum insured amounts to 17 billion rubles.

The construction site as well as the materials and elements used in the work was insured under the ‘liable for all risks’ condition for 16.75 billion rubles. Furthermore, civil liability to third parties as a result of work performance was insured for another 300 million rubles. The insurance coverage will be effective until the end of November 2018, including the period of warranty.

The Nizhny Novgorod stadium seats 45,000. The Nizhny Novgorod Strelka has been selected as a place of its construction, in the area of confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers. The total area of the building will be 127.5 thousand sq. m. The completion of construction activities has been scheduled for November 2017. The stadium in Nizhny Novgorod will meet all the necessary requirements of FIFA to host matches of the World Cup quarterfinals. After the 2018 World Cup matches, the stadium will be the home arena for the Nizhny Novgorod football team Volga.

The Nizhny Novgorod stadium is not the only arena among those being built for the World Cup and which were insured by SOGAZ. Previously, the company already informed about the insurance of operations related to the reconstruction and restoration of the Central stadium in Yekaterinburg (Yekaterinburg Arena), which will also host World Cup matches.
