Q1 Receipts of SOGAZ Amount to 64 Billion Rubles

The aggregate receipts of SOGAZ Insurance in direct insurance (excluding CHI) according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) amounted to 64.2 billion rubles, which is 7% more than in the same period of 2015. The net profit amounted to 3.89 billion rubles, which is also 7% higher than the previous year. The Group's assets, excluding the reinsurers' share, increased by 16% during the first three months of 2016 and exceeded 246 billion rubles.
The receipts of the key Group member, SOGAZ JSC, increased by 19% to reach 63 billion rubles. The greatest increase in receipts of SOGAZ JSC in absolute terms was recorded in the field of voluntary health insurance. The amount of charged premiums in VHI grew by 17% or 4.1 billion rubles, up to 28.6 billion rubles. The property insurance premiums of legal entities increased by 3.1 billion and amounted to 13.8 billion rubles.
The receipts from insurance fees against accidents did not change significantly and amounted to 6.3 billion rubles in Q1. Receipts from cargo insurance charges nearly doubled and amounted to 1.2 billion rubles. Insurance against aviation risks increased by 39%, up to 1.9 billion rubles, insurance against space risks increased by 48%, up to 644 million rubles, and insurance against marine risks increased by 120%, up to 569 million rubles.
Premiums of SOGAZ in voluntary civil liability insurance increased by 3% and amounted to 544 million rubles. The receipts from Compulsory Insurance of Hazardous Production Facilities, as a result of the tariff reduction in this kind of insurance, decreased by 40% to 466 million rubles. In respect of CICLF, the receipts amounted to 48 million (+10%).
The receipts of SOGAZ related to car insurance increased by more than one and a half times. The auto hull insurance brought the company 2.5 billion rubles from insurance premiums (+67%); meanwhile the OCI brought 2 billion rubles (+55%). The share of motor types in Q1 was accountable for 7% of SOGAZ portfolio.
The receipts from the SOGAZ regional network increased by 12% and reached 22.8 billion rubles.
In January-March 2016, the incoming reinsurance of risks brought the company 1.65 billion rubles in premiums, which is 25% more than during the same period of last year.
According to the IFRS, the net profit of SOGAZ JSC has increased by 15% up to 3.16 billion rubles. According to the Russian accounting standards, the net profit of the company has reached 8.6 billion rubles, which is 51% more than the previous year.
The loss ratio in Q1 of the current year amounted to 61.7%, which is 2.2 percentage points lower than in Q1 2015. The combined ratio fell by almost 5 percentage points, down to 86%. The result for the insurance activity of SOGAZ JSC has exceeded 3.6 billion rubles, which is 69% higher than in the previous year.
The volume of the investment portfolio of SOGAZ JSC by the end of Q1 2016 amounted to 141.5 billion rubles (including monetary funds in settlement accounts), which is 8% more than at the end of 2015. The assets of SOGAZ, not taking into account the share of reinsurers, exceeded 211 billion rubles in Q1 2016, which is 19% more than at the end of 2015. The (gross) insurance reserves amounted to 144 billion rubles (+24%).
