Argentina is Trying to Get Out of the Crisis Through Debt Restructuring

OREANDA-NEWS Argentina's international debt securities fell to a record low, while insurance on them rose to a record high after the government announced plans to restructure its debts, which alerted buyers of debt securities.
Struck by inflation and recession, the Argentinean economy has been struggling with debt for many years. Although President Macri is “business-friendly” in power, he can do little, as leftist populist Fernandez, who has every chance of getting a chair in the fall, won the first round in recent elections, Reuters reports.
Despite its difficult economic history with 9 defaults and frequent debt restructuring, Argentina remains Latin America's third largest economy, large enough to arouse investor interest, but extremely volatile.
