OREANDA-NEWS Russian retailers have received letters from the fish processing companies Baltiyskiy Bereg, Russkoye Morye and Evroprom about the increase in prices for their products from December 16-18. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper.
According to him, in the case of the Baltic Coast, 16 commodity items will rise in price by 3-25 percent. The cost of fish kits for beer will increase especially impressively. In addition, mussels in oil and brine, chopped squid, seafood pasta will rise in price by 20 percent. You will have to pay 10 percent more for herring fillets.
This dynamics is explained by the increase in raw material prices. According to Europrom, pink salmon has risen in price by 30 percent, and mackerel by 40 percent. According to the Russian Sea, Pacific raw materials have risen in price by an average of 16 percent, Atlantic raw materials by 10 percent.
In turn, Alexey Popovichev, executive director of the Rusbrand Association, believes that in the near future we should not expect a drop in sales of canned fish. There is an increased demand for them in the pre-holiday period.
Earlier it was reported that the production of canned fish in Russia fell by 10 percent from 2019 to 2023. At the same time, the production of cheaper preserves has increased. The output gained 34 percent.
