OREANDA-NEWS  Law enforcement officers found 30 million rubles during a search of the house of Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Transport Committee Renat Yagudin. 

During the investigation, cash in rubles and foreign currency was found. Jewelry was also seized.

The official is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of 2.5 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened against him under the relevant article.

According to investigators, Yagudin agreed with an acquaintance to transfer money through him from a representative of a commercial organization for concluding a state contract for the supply of transport infrastructure elements.

On October 23, Yagudin, in his car parked on Chernyakhovsky Street, received a bribe from an intermediary. When FSB officers tried to detain him, he threw money on the road and wanted to escape. In the near future, he will be charged and the issue of choosing a preventive measure will be resolved.

Since 2001, Yagudin has worked in the prosecutor's office, and in 2014 he received the position of head of the Control and Audit Department for Urban and Suburban Passenger Transport in the St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Organizer of Transportation". After that, he became the head of the Department of control and safety in transport, and then the director of the State Unitary Enterprise Lenobltrans.

In 2020, the man became the head of the Transportation Organizer company, and a year later he moved to the transport committee.
