OREANDA-NEWS. As part of the upcoming organisational changes due to VTB Bank’s consolidation with VTB24, and with the aim of optimising the Group’s management, the Supervisory Council of VTB Bank has decided to appoint Mikhail Zadornov and Gennady Soldatenkov as Members of the Management Board. These appointments will come into effect immediately following the approval of the candidates by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

Mikhail Zadornov

Born: May 4, 1963, Moscow.
1984: Graduated from Plekhanov Moscow National Economy Institute with a degree in Economics. PhD in Economics.

Since July 2005, Mr. Zadornov acts as President – Chairman of the Management Board of VTB24.

Previous positions:

  • 1986 – 1988 – postgraduate at the Institute of Economy of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
  • 1989 – 1990 – research assistant at the Institute of the Economy, expert of the Planning and Budgetary Commission of the USSR Supreme Council, research assistant at the Institute of the Economy of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
  • 1990 – Mr. Zadornov became a member of State Commission for Economic Reforms of the Council of Ministers of the Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic. Mr. Zadornov was one of the authors of the 500 Days Programme. In January 1991, Mr. Zadornov took part in establishing the Centre for Economic and Political Research.
  • On December 12, 1993, Mr. Zadornov was elected Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. January 1994 – December 1995 – Chairman of the State Duma Commission for Budget, Taxes, Banks and Finance. On December 17, 1995 he was re-elected to the State Duma and acted as Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Budget, Taxes, Banks and Finance.
  • November 1997 - May 1999 – Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation.
  • From 1997 Mr. Zadornov was a member of the Board of Directors of Sberbank of the Russian Federation. In May 1998 he became Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank of the Russian Federation.
  • On May 5, 1998 Mr. Zadornov became a member of the Presidium of the Government of the Russian Federation.
  • January 1998 – June 1999 – Member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
  • From April 6, 1999 he acted as Deputy Manager of the International Monetary Fund on behalf of the Russian Federation. With effect from May 25, 1999 he became the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
  • From October 1999, Mr. Zadornov acted as Counselor of Mr. Andrey Kazmin, President of Sberbank of the Russian Federation.
  • On December 19, 1999, Mr. Zadornov was elected Member of the State Duma of the 3rd convocation and acted as Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Committee for Budget and Taxes.

Gennady Soldatenkov

Born in 1952.
1975: Graduated from the Moscow Financial Institute, majoring in Finance and Credit. 1989: Graduated from Moscow Higher Party School, and in 1990 from the Higher Commerce School of the Academy of National Economy under the USSR Council of Ministers.

Since May 2016, Mr. Soldatenkov acts as President – Chairman of the Management Board of BM Bank.
