BNY Mellon's Annual ETF Symposium to Feature Political Commentators
OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2016. Political commentators Paul Begala of CNN and Tucker Carlson, co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend, will be the keynote speakers at etfXchange ’16, BNY Mellon’s annual exchange-traded funds (ETF) symposium, which will take place on September 19-21 at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA. This is the fifth year of the symposium, which highlights best practices and strategies for registered investment advisors, sponsors, investors and other participants in the ETF industry.
While Begala and Carlson will offer their contrasting views on the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, the core of the conference will focus on key issues affecting the ETF marketplace including pending regulations, areas of growth, the continuing rise of active ETFs and alternative investments in an ETF structure.
Among the ETF experts scheduled to speak at this year’s conference are Tom Lydon, editor and publisher of ETF Trends, and Amy Doberman, a partner at law firm WilmerHale. Also scheduled to present at the event are Deborah Fuhr, co-founder of consulting firm ETFGI, and Kathleen Moriarity, a partner at law firm Kaye Scholer.
“This year’s symposium for the first time will include a series of breakout sessions designed to help financial advisors develop strategies that utilize ETFs,” said Steve Cook, business executive, structured product services for BNY Mellon. Cook, who will moderate the opening panel at the symposium and provide an overview of the ETF marketplace, added, “We believe investors will benefit from etfXchange ’16 by gaining exposure to experts who can provide insights on a range of important issues such as balancing active and passive strategies, finding liquidity, and efficiently accessing a wide range of asset classes.”
