OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 February 2009 was announced, that during a trading session on February 18, 2009 a new record in trading volume of futures contracts was registered on Futures and Options on RTS (FORTS market).

By the closure of the main trading session the trading volume in futures contracts was 1 972 134 contracts.

The previous record was set on February, 11th, 2009 with the trading volume in futures reaching 1 903 133 contracts.

On February 18, 2009 the total trading volume in futures and options reached 2 049 991 contracts.

FORTS, the derivatives market of RTS, is a leading trading venue for futures and options in Russia. Trading on FORTS started in September 2001. At present FORTS has the widest range of instruments in Russia. These are 48 contracts (31 futures and 17 options) on shares of Russian companies, bonds, short term interest rates, currency, RTS Index, oil, silver, gas oil, sugar and gold.
