OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2007. The Warsaw Stock Exchange is a European leader by the number of listings. Among the regulated markets (in the meaning of EU regulations), the WSE with its 81 entrants in 2007 ranked number two in Europe as a close runner-up to the London Stock Exchange with 99 IPOs.
The third position went to Euronext (Eurolist) with half the number of entrants (40) compared to the WSE Main Market in 2007. The Oslo Stock Exchange (37 entrants) ranked fourth, and OMX (35 entrants) ranked fifth in 2007.
NewConnect, the alternative market operated by the WSE, reported equally good performance. In less than 4 months of trading (NewConnect opened on 30 August 2007) it attracted 24 entrants, the third position in Europe compared to the results of other markets in Q3-4 2007. NewConnect moved ahead of the OMX platform First North (17 entrants) and the Deutsche Boerse market Entry Standard (16
