OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2007. On November 16, 2007, on FORTS (Futures and Options on RTS),  a new record trading volume was registered, RTS' press service reports. During a single trading day the total trading volume of derivatives made 109,2 billion rubles, which exceeds 4,5 billion dollars.

The previous record in trading volume on FORTS was registered on October 30, 2007 and amounted to 67,36 billion rubles.

The trading volume on FORTS for the period of 9 months of 2007 exceeded 166 bn dollars. From January to September 2007, there were made more than 7,2 mln trades with 93,5 mln contracts concluded in the market. Average daily open interest on standard contracts in 2007 grew by 102,6% and in September 2007 reached 8 bn dollars.
