OREANDA-NEWS. As a result of trading held 19 September 2007 on the MICEX Stock Exchange, the volume of transactions in securities amounted to 256.75 billion rubles (10.19 billion dollars). Transactions concluded in the main trading mode accounted for 93.38 billion rubles, the negotiated deals mode accounted for 19.02 billion rubles, while repos accounted for 144.35 billion rubles. The volume of transactions in stocks (without repos) amounted to 91.03 billion rubles, the volume of transactions in bonds (without repos) amounted to 2.3 billion rubles, the volume of equity repos amounted to 97.20 billion rubles (with stocks) and the volume of bond repos amounted to 47.15 billion rubles.

This is the record high figure of daily trade volume for the whole history of trading on the MICEX Group’s stock market, launched in March 1997. The previous record (230.18 billion rubles) was registered on 1 August 2007.

The MICEX Index, which tracks the behavior of prices on the Russian securities market, reached 1730.74 points at the close on 19 September. Over 224 thousand transactions were concluded in the course of trading on 19 September 2007.
