OREANDA-NEWS. In August 2007, the total trading volume on Classic market equaled 1,392.4 million US dollars, RTS' press-service reports. During the period August 1st – August 31st 5,911 transactions were done. RTS Index closed on August 31st, 2007, at 1919,89, which is 3,71% down as compared to July 2007 (1993.96 points). The second-tier stock index RTS-2, is down by 2,95% over the same period and reached 2069.46 as compared to 2132.44 at the end of July.

The August top gainers are Orenburgneft, preferred and common shares, (+71.43% and +57.89% accordingly), JSC "WTC Moscow", common shares (+20.00%). Last month’s losers were Moscow Integrated Electricity Distribution Company, common shares (-27,00%), JSC "SGC TGC-8", common shares (-19,23%) and Transneft preferred shares (-18,92%).

The best selling stocks that week had been "RAO UESR" common stocks (EESR), with total monthly turnover of $505,7 million, the second place keeps OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" (GMKN) common shares - $203,9 million and the third place is taken by Sberbank common shares (SBER) - $183,4 million. The share of each security group in the total trading volume reached 36.32%, 14.65% and 13.17% accordingly.
