OREANDA-NEWS. Crocus Expo Exhibition Centre welcomed the International Specialized Exhibition of Technologies and Equipment for Aluminium Manufacturing and Processing "Alumico 2007". In spite of the exhibition working for the first time this year it attracted 62 companies from eight countries, the MVK, an exhibition company, press office reported.

At the official opening ceremony Andrey Lapshin, President of MVK International Exhibition Company, stated that nowadays Russia is the world leader in aluminium and alumina manufacture, though the centre of aluminum industry exhibitions is Germany. And the aim of MVK is to make Russia the leader in aluminium exhibitions.

Petr Peredery, Deputy Head of the Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Energy said that Alumico 2007 is a pilot project. "The fact that it has provoked such an interest among Russian and foreign companies let us hope for its future success. The exhibition will stimulate international distribution of aluminium goods and development of aluminium industry in general."
Yury Shtefanyuk, Head of Rusal Aluminium Department, stated that the opening of the international aluminium exhibition this year is a great event for the company. It has happened in the year of the 75th anniversary of Russian aluminium industry and the year when the company Rusal became the world leader in aluminium and alumina manufacture.

Participants of the exhibition expressed their hope for developing of innovative aluminium technologies and implementing them to Russian manufactures. They also stated that Russian enterprises attract the foreign companies attention and they should develop the tendency, and, thereby, Alumico 2007 in future can become the largest business partnership forum in the aluminium industry.
