OREANDA-NEWS. A technical seminar entitled "Prospects of open-pit mining technologies development" was held this week (12-13 Sept.) at Kuzbasrazrezugol OJSC for leading coal producers of the Kuznetsk Basin. The seminar was held by specialists from OMZ GOiT (OMZ Mining Equipment and Technologies), with participation by the Department for Industry, Transport and Communications of the Kemerovo Region Administration, OMZ's press-service reports.

Representatives of the following coal producers of the Kuzbas area took part in the seminar: Yuzhny Kuzbas, Belovskaya Mine, Mezhdurechie, SUEK – Kuzbas subsidiary, as well as top specialists from enterprises involved in design, production and further maintenance of mining equipment: IZ-Karteks, United Energy Company, Rudoavtomatika, Power Machines, KEMZ, Gortekhmash, Kuzbas PTK (Software and Hardware Complex), Sibir Service, LINCOLN.

During the seminar, issues topical for the coal-mining industry such as new and prospective mining technologies had been discussed.

OMZ GOiT has presented a strategy for new technology production to the seminar participants. Two new machines designed by the company - EKG-1500K and EKG-1500R with shovel volumes of 26 and 18 m3 respectively, which will shortly replace the two other excavators – EKG-15 and EKG-12 - were displayed. In addition, new future rack crowded excavator models, equipped with 30 m3 shovels for overburden and 40-45 m3 for coal, were exhibited.

In the near future OMZ GOiT plans a similar seminar for metal mining industry specialists. The geographic scope for such sessions will be significantly broadened: the enterprise plans to organize technical seminars not only in Russia, but also in Ukraine.
