On November 20, 2007, on FORTS (Futures and Options on RTS), a record high trading volume of futures on RTS Index was registered, RTS' press service reports. According to the trading results of the day, the trading volume of this derivative instrument totaled 43,7 billion rubles or 409, 476 contracts.

The previous record in trading volume of futures on RTS Index was registered on November 13, 2007 and totaled 39,8 billion rubles or 362, 247contracts.

The trading volume on FORTS for the period of 9 months of 2007 exceeded 166 billion dollars. From January to September 2007, there were done more than 7,2 mln trades with 93,5 million contracts. Average daily open interest on standard contracts in 2007 grew by 102.6% and in September 2007 reached 8 billion dollars.
