OREANDA-NEWS. JSC "Kovdorsky GOC", incorporated into the Mineral Chemical Company "EuroChem", over 9 months of the current year released commodity products to the amount of 7.14 billion rubles (in comparable prices) which comes to 102,03 % to the level of the similar period of past year, the company's press department reported. Release of iron-ore concentrate from the beginning of 2007 amounted to 3.88 million tons or 91% as compared to the level of the similar period of the previous year. The Combine is carrying out preparatory works for implementation of the investment project aimed at significant reduction of gray in iron-ore concentrate. This will permit to significantly improve the quality of the product, render it competitive in the European market, as well as will open for the enterprise new sales markets and increase efficiency of work. Shipments of iron-ore concentrate have also grown: this indicator as compared to the previous year went up 10,55 %. Apatite concentrate had been produced over 9 months of the current year at the amount of 1 827,76 thousand tons. This is higher than the level of January-September 2006 by 22,86 %.

Production volume of beddelyite concentrate increased by 2,91 % and amounted to 5,44 thousand tons. JSC "Kovdorsky GOC" is the only producer of beddelyite concentrate all over the world, which is a unique zirconium containing raw material.The increase in production of apatite and beddelyite concentrates became possible thanks to successful implementation of the Investment Project of OJSC MCC "EuroChem" as a result of which "Kovdorsky GOC" introduced into operation a new scheme for raw material processing. The carried out modernization of equipment allowed GOC to simultaneously process ore and raw of technogenic deposit without technological pauses.
