OREANDA-NEWS. The number of Ukrainian mobile subscribers increased 1.4% m/m to 52.6 mln users in August and reached a (nominal) mobile penetration of 113.2%. Kyivstar users increased 1.8% m/m to 22.8 mln people, while MTS reported a 0.6% rise in its subscriber base to 20.0 mln people, Life displayed a 4.7% increase to 7.0 mln people. Beeline's subscribers number decreased 4.13% to 2.6 mln people.

According to an analysis agency Millennium Capital, while the number of mobile subscribers did not grow between February and June of this year, the number of subscribers started finally to rise in July and is continuing to grow.

The reason for the saturation of the market is, on the one hand, already high penetration level of more than 100%. On the other hand,  mobile users still have on average 1.6 SIM-cards. The real telecommunications market penetration would, therefore, be around 62%.
