OJSC "Aeroflot" Summed Up Results of Its Two-Year Operation in the New System of Ticket Reservation and Sale Sabre
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 26, 2007 OJSC “Aeroflot” has summed up results of its two-year operation in the new system of ticket reservation and sale Sabre, reported the press-centre of OJSC “Aeroflot - Russian Airlines”.
As a result of application of modern information platform Aeroflot has an efficient instrument of sales organization and revenues management, technological opportunity of cooperation with partners of the Sky Team alliance, favorable conditions for development of corporate information technologies of advanced level. Based on Sabre products Aeroflot has successfully integrated its information technologies with systems of all participants of Sky Team, introduced the e-ticket technology, WEB-reservation and Internet sales. Since beginning of 2007 over 19 thousand tickets for the total amount of $8 mln. were sold via Aeroflot site. “Aeroflot-Don”, a subsidiary company, is also planning a transition to Sabre by the end of 2007.
Exploitation of a new IT platform has enhanced efficiency of revenues management operation and allowed to gain an additional profit of $20 mln. in 2006, increased performance in sales offices by over 30%, strengthened information security of reservation and sale system. Buttons of self check-in at the airport before the flight were introduced on the basis of Sabre. By the end of 2007 the company is planning to install Sabre ACSI (check-in stands) at 18 Russian airports of Aeroflot destinations.
