OREANDA-NEWS  On 11 June was announced, that the Government of Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed Memorandum of mutual understanding between Ukraine and the EBRD concerning measures to ensure sustainable development of energy sector.

From the Government of Ukraine the document was signed by Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria, from the EBRD – EBRD Director for Ukraine Andrй Kььsvek. The signing ceremony was held with participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.

The Premier of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stressed this instrument is significant for Ukraine as it concerns the most vulnerable branch – energy sector. According to the PM, this branch necessitates huge investments. The Head of Government underlined signing of the document would enable broadening cooperation in the issues of reforming of energy and introduction of energy saving programs.
