OREANDA-NEWS. The gross international reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Ukraine's central bank, grew by 6%, or by $1.736 billion in September, to $30.619 billion, OTP Bank reported with reference to the NBU's press service. In January through September, the gross international reserves of the NBU grew by 37.6%, or by $8.362 billion, from $22.256 billion.

The money supply, which includes the amount of cash in circulation and the amount of cash held in current accounts and time accounts with commercial banks, in September rose by 6.0% or UAH 19.7 billion from UAH 329 billion, as of September 1, to UAH 348.7 billion, as of October 1, 2007. The money supply has risen by 33.6% or UAH 87.588 billion since the start of 2007.

The monetary base, which includes the amount of cash held in commercial banks' accounts with the NBU and the amount of cash in circulation, in September rose by 5.9% or UAH 7.2 billion from UAH 120.5 billion, as of September 1, to UAH 127.7 billion, as of October 1, 2007. The monetary base has risen by 31.3% or UAH 30.460 billion since the start of 2007.

Also in September, the total volume of credits granted by commercial banks to economic entities rose by 6.5% or UAH 22.3 billion from UAH 345 billion, as of September 1, to UAH 367.2 billion, as of October 1.

Since the beginning of 2007, banks' crediting  to economic entities rose by 49.8% or UAH 122 billion.
