OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2012.   Vladimir Putin paid his last respects to Marshal Sergei Sokolov, Hero of the Soviet Union, who died at the age of 101.

The ceremony took place at the Russian Armed Forces Cultural Centre in Moscow.

Sergei Sokolov was Soviet Defence Minister in 1984-1987, and since 1992, was an adviser to the Russian Defence Minister.
