Dmitry Medvedev Has Been Briefed on the Blasts in Grozny
OREANDA-NEWS. August 31, 2011. Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev reported to the President by telephone on the measures the federal Interior Ministry officials are taking together with the police in Chechnya to deal with the aftermath of the blasts in Grozny and find the perpetrators.
Mr Medvedev ordered that a thorough investigation be conducted, and that all necessary help be offered to the injured and to the families of the Interior Ministry officers killed in the blasts. The President instructed Mr Nurgaliyev to present for state decoration the names of the police officers who showed professionalism and courage in detaining the criminals.
The blasts occurred on the evening of August 30 on Bogdan Khmelnitsky Street in Chechnya’s capital, Grozny. Nine people were killed, including seven police officers and one employee of the Emergencies Ministry, and 20 people were injured.
