OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2011. Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov informed Dmitry Medvedev in a telephone conversation about the measures taken by the FSB and Interior Ministry to normalise the situation in and around Nalchik, and the progress of investigative and other operational activities.

In Nalchik on February 25 the building of the FSB Department for Kabardino-Balkaria and two traffic police check points were gunned, and an FSB health resort bombed. An investigation into the accidents is underway.
