Vladimir Putin Sends Greetings to Mongolian Counterpart
OREANDA-NEWS. June 04, 2009. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends greetings to his Mongolian counterpart, Sanjaagiin Bayar, on the 60th anniversary of Ulan Bator Railway joint venture.
The telegram reads, in part:
"I would like to highlight that the Ulan Bator Railway's operation is a shining example of our two countries' good-neighbourly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation. The construction and operation of the railway have given a powerful impetus to Mongolia's economic development, providing it with a reliable link with Russian and other markets.
"The planned, long-term Ulan Bator Railway modernisation programmes open up prospects for broader cooperation. These programmes will give us access to rich metals deposits and will promote the social and economic development of Mongolia's regions."
