Dmitry Medvedev Made Amendments to Commemorative Dates of Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2009. The amended Federal law establishes the following commemorative dates in the Russian Federation:
January 25 – Russian Students Day;
April 12 – Cosmonautics Day;
June 22 – Day of Memory and Grief and the Day of the Beginning of the Great Patriotic War (1941);
June 29 – Day of Partisans and Underground Resistance;
September 3 – Day of Solidarity in the Fight Against Terrorism;
November 7 – 1917 October Revolution Day;
December 9 – Heroes of the Fatherland Day; and,
December 12 – Russian Constitution Day.
The Federal law enters into force on January 1, 2010.
June 29, the Day of Partisans and Underground Resistance, is new on the list of commemorative dates.
The list was also amended in 2007 when June 22, the Day of Memory and Grief and the Day of the Beginning of the Great Patriotic War (1941), and December 9, Heroes of the Fatherland Day, were declared commemorative dates.
