OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2009. The Society of Azerbaijani Students and Scientific Workers was created in Germany.

The State Committee for Diaspora informed Fineko/abc.az that the Society is aimed at uniting all the Azerbaijani youth living and getting education in Germany, assisting in establishment of close contacts between them, implementing the joint projects. One of the Society’s purposes is to inform the German community about Azerbaijan’s history and culture, Azerbaijani people’s traditions and the sore problem – Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict through holding conferences, scientific symposiums in German scientific establishments.  The Society was registered on January 12. Its sections operate in different cities of Germany. The Society of Azerbaijani Students is headed by Samir Abbasov, a student of Freiberg Technical University.
