OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2008. Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to President of India Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh following the terrorist attacks in Assam.

“I was deeply shocked to learn of the series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Assam that have killed dozens of innocent people”, Mr Medvedev said in his message. “Nothing can justify such inhuman and monstrously cruel crimes. The terrorists guilty of these barbaric acts should receive the severest punishment.

Please accept my sincere condolences over these events. I ask you to pass on my words of sympathy and support to the families of all who were killed or injured in this tragedy”.

A series of 13 explosions in four different cities on Thursday killed more than 70 people and injured more than 400.
