In conditions of the growing consumption of energy resources globally, the significance of the Caspian Region as a major source of raw hydrocarbons is great. Over the past decade, the Caspian littoral nations have been increasing production of raw hydrocarbons at a rapid pace. In 2007, Kazakhstan produced 67.2 million tons of oil and gas condensate and over 29 billion m3 of gas. According to expert estimates, in some five or seven years, the regional volume of oil production may rise 1.5-2 times (to reach 180-240 million tons of oil), and gas production 2-2.5 times (200-250 billion m3), which will entail an increase in prospective hydrocarbon exports.
The KIOGE Exhibition and Conference has been noted by experts as most important information facility with regard to Kazakhstan’s energy industry and Kazakhstan on the whole.
