Belarus and Russia to Ink Air Defence System Agreement in November
OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2008. Belarus and Russia are going to sign an agreement on the development of the regional integrated system of the anti-aircraft defence in early November 2008, State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin said in the course of the session of the joint board of the Defence Ministries of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on October 8.
The military and technical cooperation is expected to top the agenda of the session of the Union State Supreme State Council in early November in Moscow, Pavel Borodin said.
He is confident that the sides will ink the agreement on the creation of the integrated system of the anti-aircraft defence of Belarus and Russia. “There is no doubt in it,” asserted the State Secretary of the Union State.
Speaking about the importance of the air defence system, Pavel Borodin said that “from the military point of view this is practically the protection from NATO”.
