OREANDA-NEWS. October 7, 2008. Mr Boos informed the President about work to resolve social and economic issues in the region and about increases in the gross regional output and average wage. Mr Medvedev said that with the world currently facing a financial crisis it is important to pay greater attention to the social sphere. 

Mr Boos also reported on measures to provide service and permanent housing for military servicemen, in particular from the Baltic Fleet. The President confirmed that the housing construction programme for servicemen remains one of the state’s priorities and will be implemented within the planned deadlines.
