OREANDA-NEWS. October 6, 2008. Dmitry Medvedev ordered the leadership of the Ministry of Defence, law enforcement agencies and representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry to carefully investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Russian peacekeepers following an act of terrorism in the Republic of South Ossetia.

The President also instructed the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the forces of law and order in the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia to take all necessary measures to prevent further criminal acts against Russian peacekeepers and civilians in the republics.
