OREANDA-NEWS. On October 7-10, 2008, in Minsk (Belarus), the second specialized transport show „TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS 2008“ will take place. The Belorussian Transport Forum will be held during the show on October 8-10, 2008, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda port.
 
The goal of these two events is to present holistically all kinds of transport and logistics systems as well as their equipment, passenger and cargo carriage services, transport information and servicing systems. The show and the forum are initiated by the Ministries of Transport and the Economy of Belarus, the Belorussian Railways, and the biggest Belarus transport associations.
 
To continue developing co-operation with the Belorussian exporters and importers and to strengthen the image of Klaipeda‘s port and its companies on a market making up the biggest, in terms of turnover, part of the port‘s transit cargo, the port of Klaipeda will be present at the show as a 108 m2 united stand. As a part of the united exhibition, the following companies will participate: SE Klaipeda State Seaport Athority, SC „Klaipeda Stevedoring Company“ (KLASCO), SC „Klaipedos nafta“, LLC „Klaipeda Container Terminal“, LLC „Bulk Cargoes Terminal“, LLC „Navalis Maritime Agency“, LLC „Arijus“, LLC „Baltic Shipping“, LLC „Baltic Group“, LLC „Limarko Maritime Agency“, LLC „BPA“, LLC „Western Stevedoring“ and SC „Lithuanian Railways“.
 
During the show, the Belorussian Transport Forum will be held. Belorussian transport and logistics systems‘ development will be discussed during the event, as well as the economic, legal, organizational, scientific and technical problems of the system‘s integration and the extension of the goods supplies chain from Europe to China. During the plenary forum‘s meeting and a set of round-table discussions, an analysis of opportunities and problems related to organizing cargo carriage by land is planned to be carried out. The most relevant and promising transport and logistics development directions will be chosen keeping in mind the international experience and ongoing work abroad.
 
The Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Ceslovas Siksnelis will give a speech at the Belorussian Transport Forum.

During the „TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS 2008“ show and the forum, the Port‘s Authority will be reperesented by the Head of the SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority  Representative Office in the Republic of Belarus Mr. Arturas Gaidauskas.
