OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2008. The Government is carrying out a policy in returning to Ukraine its image of an aviation state. The Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine Yosyp Vinsky announced during the ceremony of grand opening of the VI International Aerospace Salon "Aviasvit ХХI".

Yosyp Vinsky noted that for today a key issue appears helping national aviation branch out into a competitive space on the world market.

The head of transport department stressed that the Ministry has elaborated a clear concept of aviation development. According to him, notably, for the development of airports and airdromes the Government has earmarked 1 bn UAH this year which is significantly higher than the previous years.

The second task, as Yosyp Vinsky put it, appears leading to the Ukrainian market of new modern planes: “We have to cardinally renew the fleet of planes, to have modern planes which would provide citizens with maximum productive services”. Also, according to him, there is a task “to make Ukraine’s citizens to change their seats from land transport to the airplanes”. Particularly, as Yosyp Vinsky informed, owing to the activity of the Gov’t led in this direction over 8 months of 2008 the number of citizens using air transport has increased by 30%.

In his turn the Minister of Industrial Policy Volodymyr Novytsky noted that a peculiarity of this year’s salon is that today, firstly a flight will be performed and a new medium linehaul plane An-148-100 will be put in operation. “It will be the first step which will enable to supply aviation companies of Ukraine with modern comfortable planes in the future,” he said.
