OREANDA-NEWS. Moldovan economic agents, potential investors and tourists are expected to participate this year in the National Wine Day 2008, which is to take place on 11-12 October.

The statement was made within the meeting of the Republican commission for the organization and unfolding of the National Wine Day 2008. The meeting was chaired by Moldovan First Deputy Premier, Economics and Trade Minister Igor Dodon.

The participants in the meeting discussed issues related to the preparation for the event. The holiday is to be inaugurated in Chisinau, on the Great National Assembly Square, where the participants' exhibition stalls will be staged. On 12 October there will take place different events in Moldova's district, due to be attended by central and local authorities.

According to the commission s data, this year the National Wine Day will be more interesting than before. Firstly, the programme will include two-day events as compared with the previous edition, which lasted one day only. Traditionally, foreign guests are expected for this event, and special conditions will be created for them.

Igor Dodon highlighted the importance of respecting the action plan for the organization of the holiday's 2008 edition.

The National Wine Day is unfolded annually the second week of October and represents a meeting of Moldovan winemakers, the exhibition of their work results and the organization of cultural events.

The first edition of the festival was organized in 2002. The goal of the National Wine Day is to promote Moldova's image, Moldovan wine and develop tourism.
