Ukraine to Earmark 50 MN UAH Supplementary Aid to Georgia
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2008. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will appropriate additional 50 MN UAH as humanitarian assistance to Georgia. Vice Prime Minister for European Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria announced at a briefing.
“The Government of Ukraine will consider today and, I am convinced, will take a decision to appropriate supplementary financial assistance to Georgia to the tune of 50 million hryvnyas,” Hryhoriy Nemyria disclosed.
According to the Vice Prime Minister, the funds will be directed to rebuilding of dwelling for refugees, the number of which has reached 27 thousands in Tbilisi, as well as of social infrastructure of Georgia, notably, reconstructing of schools.
Hryhoriy Nemyria also informed, Ukrainian Gov’t transferred to the Ministry of Finance of Georgia around 10.5 MN USD.
