President of Turkmenistan Receives Case New Holland CEO
OREANDA-NEWS. August 1, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Case New Holland CEO Franco Fusignani and CNH Business Manager Tomas Davis.
Thanking the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting Mr. Franco Fusignani said that Case New Holland was sincerely proud to co-operate with Turkmenistan that had been successfully developing for many years. In the period the large consignment of agricultural machines widely engaged in various sectors of the country’s agro-industrial complex had been delivered to the country. The businessmen emphasized that he was very glad at a new meeting with the Turkmen leader and an opportunity to continue the dialogue about co-operation initiated last autumn at the Rockefeller Centre in New York.
Greeting the guests Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the Case Company was one of Turkmenistan’s reliable long-term partners in agro-industrial sector. The President said that this co-operation was viewed as of current importance with regard to the agricultural reform implemented in the country and prioritizing renewal and modernization of the agro-industrial fleet.
The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of mutually advantageous partnership to achieve the goals of the large-scale agro-industrial reforms implemented in Turkmenistan. Putting emphasis on the Case Company’s interest in developing the effective business contacts Mr. Franco Fusignani informed of the steps and measures taken to implement the agreements achieved in New York, in particular on adaptation of agricultural machines to the local soil and climatic conditions and agrotechnical standards. The guest said that several machines had been delivered to Turkmenistan and tested on site. The field tests were carried on the Dashoguz Velayat. The Turkmen specialists’ recommendations and proposals were taken into consideration
Thanking the CNH top managers for the constructive approach to co-operation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmen machine operators highly appreciated Case tractors. The Turkmen leader said that he had received added evidence of that during the recent working trip to the Baharly Etrap, where he had had the meetings with the specialists and thoroughly studied the performance and operational characteristics.
Reaffirming the mutual intention to maintain effective co-operation the sides negotiated the delivery of a large consignment of Case machines – 700 tractors, of them 300 would be delivered in Turkmenistan till March 2009.
Touching upon the aspects of bilateral collaboration Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on maintenance services and enhancement of the repair and engineering potential. The President put emphasis on such aspect as training highly qualified personnel at the new agricultural educational establishment under construction in Dashoguz in particular.
Mr. Franco Fusignani assured that the Turkmen partners’ proposals and recommendations would be taken into consideration. Expressing sincere gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the serious and detailed conversation the businessmen put emphasis on the Company’s intense interest in fostering fruitful co-operation with Turkmenistan that the American company regarded as a very promising and dependable business partner.
Upon concluding the meeting Mr. Franco Fusignani gave an interview to TDH highly appreciating the results of the talks with the Turkmen leader. “It always gives great pleasure to talk to the people who know perfectly well the heart of the problem, and your President is distinguished for such an approach. During our meeting in New York your President explained what your farmers needed and focused on the necessity of adapting our machines to the soil and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan. Today we have discussed in detail the technical side of co-operation, in particular bio diesel and personnel training to improve the skills of operating high technology machinery in future. I assured highly respected Mr. President that I personally and my company will spare no effort so that our equipment will work excellently under the conditions of Turkmenistan.”
