OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2008. In the first half of the year the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan continues measures aimed at preventing cases of illegal migration to the country.

Deputy minister of internal affairs Vilayat Eyvazov said that for the past six months they revealed facts of residence of foreign citizens without a required permit and registration.

“It was detained 101 migrant foreigners without the right of residence in the country,” Eyvazov said.

In the 1st half-year 147,642 citizens were provided with foreign passports and 332,767 ones with IDs.

“Over AZN 7 million of state duty was transferred to State Budget,” Eyvazov emphasized.
