Azerbaijan and Iran Intend to Establish Joint Culture Committee
OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2008. The Azerbaijan delegation led by culture & tourism minister has visited Iran.
The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan has informed that during the visit the delegates had meetings with advisor to president and chairman of Organization of Cultural & Islamic Relations Mehdi Mustafavi, first deputy foreign minister Shaikh Attar and other high-ranking officials.
“During the meetings we covered issues of co-operation in the area of culture, arts, cinema, advertising, and libraries. It was reached an arrangement to conduct Week of Azerbaijani Culture in Iran in April 2009 and in July Week of Iranian Culture in Azerbaijan. The sides also stressed the necessity to set up a joint culture committee with the purpose to hold meetings between Caspian states’ culture ministers, discuss issues of mutual interest. In addition, it was offered a range of initiatives relating to partnership in cruise projects in the Caspian Sea, implementation of joint international routes of Silk Way, mutual infotours, strengthening of private sector co-operation in the area of tourism, participation in tourism exhibitions, etc,” it was reported.
