Mr Kopin, the new governor, informed the President about the region’s development and plans to expand industrial activity that will give local people a better quality of life. Mr Kopin said that coal, gold and precious metals mining will all contribute to the region’s social and economic development.

Mr Medvedev noted the need to give development in the region new impetus and build on the results achieved over recent years.
