Belarus, Russia to Exchange Information on Two-Way Trips
OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2008. Belarus and Russia will establish a quarterly information exchange on the two-way trips of Belarusian and Russian car carriers. This agreement was reached at the meeting between head of the transport inspection of the Transport Ministry of Belarus Alexander Ivankov and head of bureau of state road control of Smolensk region Ivan Kutenkov that was held in Orsha on July 19.
The Transport and Communication Ministry said that the sides discussed the strategic cooperation related to the vehicle control on the Belarusian-Russian border. They touched upon the problem of lines on the Belarusian checkpoints. They came to the conclusion that a direct contact should be established between heads of checkpoints.
The sides also considered the coordination of the joint activities in arranging the visit of Belarusian Transport Minister Vladimir Sosnovsky and Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin to the checkpoint Redki-Krasnoye. The visit will be held on August 9 2008, in line with the 10th session of the coordinating committee on the formation and support of the unified transport system of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
