OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2008. The decree stipulates the start of work to draft a development concept for Russia’s civil legislation and federal laws making amendments to the Russian Federation Civil Code. This is needed, in particular, to enhance the legal foundation for the market economy, provide the legal backing for Russia’s international economic and humanitarian ties, and bring provisions in Russia’s Civil Code closer into line with the legislative provisions governing these relations in the European Union and the CIS countries. 

The decree also confirms the membership of the Presidential Council for Codification and Enhancement of Civil Law.
