OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2008. President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus sent congratulations on behalf of himself and the people of Lithuania to the President of the Republic of Slovenia Danilo Turk and all Slovenian people on their national holiday, the Statehood Day.

“Today our two countries are working together in support of their mutual aspirations and interests in the EU and NATO. They are actively engaged in their respective regions and the whole of the world in promoting the development of freedom, the general good, and democracy. I am confident that our bilateral cooperation, based on common values and interests, will become even stronger and more intensive within the unified Euro-Atlantic space open to enlargement“, the President wrote in his letter of congratulations.

The President also thanked Slovenia for its leadership and solidarity during its presidency of the European Union. “The works of importance to the entire Europe that were accomplished by your country will doubtlessly remain in history books and help build up and support a unified European Union willing to develop and expand“, noted President Adamkus.
