OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2008.  They discussed issues concerning the development of the Russian judicial system and reform of the penal system. The Russian Human Rights Ombudsman presented the President with materials on the situation in the prison system, based on complaints that he has received.

During the meeting they touched upon the problem of protecting the rights of victims of crimes. Vladimir Lukin said that his office had prepared a report on this issue and he submitted it to the head of state.
