OREANDA-NEWS. May 08, 2008. A republican seminar “State and tendency of marketing activity development in communication and information sector” was held in Bukhara city, reported the press-centre of Uzbektelecom.

It was jointly organized by Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan; Scientific Engineering  & Marketing Research Center; Scientific-Research Society on Radio-technique, Electronics and Communications of Uzbekistan.

The seminar was aimed at providing opportunities to share opinions on state, perspectives and problems marketing activity in communications and information sector. In situation of accelerated telecommunication networks and services’ convergence the economic processes run more rapidly and intensively. That is why a marketing activity becomes an important form of improving of a business process.

The seminar was attended by representatives of telecommunication operators, post companies, mobile operators, joint ventures of the industry and insurance company “Alskom”.

Director of Scientific Engineering  & Marketing Research Center M.Makhmudov opened the seminar with his opening address. He noted that marketing being an active process, performs a number of tasks, necessary for market economy’s normal functioning. As I am saying, deep knowledge of marketing, ability to make timely decisions taking into account a situation on the market will lead to a commercial success. He also mentioned that plans on marketing activity shall be clear and detail to facilitate a solution of all problems to get a high revenue by operators. For these purposes the operators shall always study their potential users’ needs.

The seminar also discussed : a state of marketing activity in the sphere of post services, in activity of JSC “Uzbektelecom”, in the Center UZINFOCOM including the ways of its optimization; goals and development of marketing departments of the companies and specialized marketing centers; technology of on-line marketing researches; marketing in payphone services; marketing in insurance activity as an incentive to improve the insurance of ICT sector of Uzbekistan and other issues.

At that seminar the following persons appeared with their reports: Senior manager in charge for marketing and payphone services development of “TShTT” V.Gulin; specialist of UZINFOCOM A.Nazarov; Director of affiliate “МТК” (Scientific Engineering  & Marketing Research Center) R.Nabiev; Head of department of “Uzbekiston Pochtasi” A.Rabbimov, Head of marketing department of “Aloka Bank” R.Sakhapova and other executives.

It was also informed at that seminar that in order to compete efficiently in today’s businesses it is necessary to gather and analyze  a great volume of market, competition related data and other factors based on strategic marketing plans being worked out with attraction of  extensive marketing researches output and other actual data.

At the end of the seminar the specific recommendations were given on efficient marketing activity in the industry based on market economy. Special attention was paid to rise a quality of services to meet users’ needs. The seminar came to decision to hold such seminars on a regular basis.
