OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2008. Zinaida Greceanii demanded from the government to improve activity of the markets of some goods which prices have considerably grown.

During the session of the government on Wednesday, Zinaida Greceanii has expressed concern in connection with increase of prices for some products, in particular beef and cement. “After analyzing situation, I have come to conclusion that this increase is not due to monetary factors. It is possible that the reason lies in the absence of competition and administrative barriers ", - Zinaida Greceanii has declared.

Thus, the prime-minister has demanded from the Ministry of Economy and trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and food industry to change some statutory acts regulating turnover of goods which prices have grown.

According to the National bureau of statistics, in March, 2008, inflation rate made 1,1 %. Since the beginning of the year, inflation made 4,1 % corresponding to the annual rate of inflation - more than 15 %.

According to NBS, within the corresponding period, significant increase of prices for meat and meat products - 5 % (including beef - 10,5 %, pork - 8,9 %, meat sub-products - 9,3 %), fresh fruits - 14,4 % and vegetable oil - 4,3 % was registered.
