Belarus to Regulate Organizing of Interactive Electronic Games
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 10, 2008, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed Ordinance No. 6 and Decree No. 201 to regulate the organizing and holding of interactive electronic games, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.
These legal documents identify the interactive electronic game as a separate type of mass electronic game based on modern-day computer technologies and software, which make it possible to hold several types of games at a time and are not used specifically for holding lottery games or totaliser-based games. According to these documents, the government shall hold a monopoly of this type of business.
The characteristics that shall refer a given game to an interactive electronic game shall be the use of software, integrated information and hardware systems, collect stakes from players betting on the result of a game, of which it is uncertain whether it will come or not.
The Decree approves the Provisions on the procedure of executing the activities aimed at organising and holding interactive electronic games in the Republic of Belarus.
